Why join SBiT?

Quite simply, by joining together, our voices have become louder. And not only does the voice of your business stand a far greater chance of getting heard, but as an SBiT member you’ll also get all sorts of support, information and advice from us along the way.

Over 120 UK travel companies are represented by SBiT. The more we can add to this, the more we can achieve - so your membership is important! Add your voice and be heard.

Why join SBiT?

Reach in the UK and the EU

The size of our membership and our ability to conduct surveys and share information means that we are called upon work with policy makers both in the UK and in the EU on matters affecting our sector. In addition, SBiT is now recognised by the French authorities as the official point of contract for the UK ski industry and related business.

Vital source of information

We run workshops, we issue regular update mailings, and we run webinars to help our membership stay informed about (evolving) compliance issues across Europe.

Influence on press and government

We are frequently approached by the press for comment and we also actively lobby the Government – most recently in relation to the effects of the pandemic on our businesses, which resulted in a meeting with the Minister for Tourism.

The benefits of membership

  • Member-only mailings with detailed updates on the many subjects impacting the industry, including latest information on application processes for work permits and visa to work in the EU. Plus access to sector insights and research

  • Access to private forums and community groups to share information and advice

  • Practical workshops and webinars on EU employment compliance issues and paperwork

  • Only SBiT members have access to the online Members’ Area, featuring case studies and links to all workshop documents

  • Networking opportunities with similar businesses at various events throughout the year, as well as within member forums

  • Raise your profile both through our lobbying efforts and via our engagement with our overseas partners. SBiT members are increasingly being viewed as compliant and established businesses, particularly by the French authorities

  • Be represented at the highest levels of policy making in both the UK and the EU and help shape the future of the industry

  • On any issues relating to overseas employment

“SBiT has been amazing at supporting me and others in the chalet industry through the difficult times recently, working hard to lobby governments and providing excellent advice to all.”
